Glossary

Portions:

The word Portion is used to describe a printed publication containing one or more of the books of the Bible. For example, if the book of Genesis was published alone, this would be termed a Portion. If the four Gospels were bound together in a single publication, this would also be called a Portion.

A publication of at least 24 pages containing various passages of Scripture is also known as a Portion. An example of this would be the “Life of Jesus” booklet, which contains several sections of the Gospels.

New Reader Portions:

A New Reader Portion is a Portion composed of Scripture passages taken from a translation appropriate for new readers. In some cases this includes cartoon format publications.

Selections:

A Selection is a printed publication in a non-bound folder, or a leaflet format. The maximum length of such a publication is 24 pages.

New Reader Selections:

A New Reader Selection is a Selection composed of specially chosen and translated Scripture passages, in a format specifically designed for new readers.
