JERUSALEM, Israel — Doron Even-Ari, Executive Secretary of the Bible Society in Israel, was among the Christian leaders who met Israeli President Moshe Katsav at his home in Jerusalem on December 31.

Mr Even-Ari presented Mr Katsav with a framed engraving on silver of the text of Numbers 6:24-26: “I pray that the Lord will bless and protect you, and that he will show you mercy and kindness. May the Lord be good to you and give you peace” (CEV). The president showed great interest in the gift and in the work of the Bible Society.

Mr Katsav told Mr Even-Ari that he belongs to an Old Testament study group which meets regularly at his home. He stated that he wishes to promote greater dialogue between Jews and Christians, who share the Bible as a common heritage. (141 words - ISRAEL.16.1.03)
