Bulgarian Bible Society appoints new executive director

SOFIA, Bulgaria — Velyo Cherniradev, 54, has formally taken over from Ivanka Slavova as Executive Director of the Bulgarian Bible Society. He had been working with Mrs Slavova since November and assumed full responsibility for the position on her retirement at the end of 2002.

Mr Cherniradev’s early career involved editing and publishing scientific information. He later specialised in Christian literature, including acting as editor for publications of the Faculty of Theology at Sofia University. He has also had his own poems, short stories and essays published in periodicals and broadcast on radio. (99 words - BULGARIA.22.1.03)
