Bookshop re-opens after 25 years

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Following four years of complex legal negotiations, the Bible Society in Lebanon (BSL) has regained the right to operate a bookshop on its original premises, which it was forced to flee some 25 years ago during the civil war. Located in one of the most attractive buildings on a street in the heart of Beirut, the bookshop will give the Bible Society a high profile. “When people see us back in our old downtown location, they will recall that the Bible Society lived through the war years and remained faithful to the Bible cause in this country,” said the Rev Lucien Accad, BSL General Secretary.
