People of DR Congo grateful
to God for protection

Photo: BS of Congo (DRC02DJ-1.JPG)KINSHASA, DR Congo — There is a strong desire among the people affected by the eruption of Mount Nyiragongo in January for the work of the Bible Society of Congo to start up again as soon as possible, according to the Rev Christophe Kongo, the Society’s General Secretary.

Photo: BS of Congo (DRC02DJ-2.JPG)With assistance from sources including the UBS Francophone Africa Regional Service Center, the Society has been able to re-open its offices in a new location, and arrangements are being made to distribute Scriptures to people who were forced to flee their homes. Local people “recognised the power of God in what happened,” according to Mr Kongo, and have expressed gratitude to God for their survival. (WR 368/21 - 6.02) e-198
