General Secretary forced out of
flat
by Prague floods
PRAGUE, Czech Republic
The Rev Dr Jirí Lukl, General Secretary of the Czech
Bible Society, found himself forced to move out of his flat near
the River Vltava in Prague following severe flooding in the area.
The Bible Society was not directly affected
by the flooding because its offices are on higher ground in a Roman
Catholic seminary, and Dr Lukl, who stays in Prague during the week
and returns to the family home at weekends, was able to move into a
room at the seminary.
Dr Lukl reported that the flooding had
brought people together in an effort to help the victims, creating a
big wave of solidarity on all sides. He also called for prayers
for the victims.
As the floods hit, the Bible Society was
two weeks away from moving to its own new Bible House in the district
of Kobylisy. Dr Lukl will occupy one of two small flats there. (WR 371/27
