PRAGUE, Czech Republic — The Czech Bible Society’s new Bible House in Prague was formally opened on September 21. General Secretary the Rev Dr Jirí Lukl accepted greetings and congratulations from national Bible Societies, local church leaders, the Rev Miller Milloy, UBS Associate General Secretary, Europe-Middle East, and Dr Igor Nemec, Mayor of Prague.

The new Bible House includes a garden, a bookshop and a permanent Bible exhibition. The British and Foreign Bible Society has donated two Czech Bibles and two Czech New Testaments from its library to the exhibition.
At a service of thanksgiving held to mark the opening, Dr Lukl expressed the Society’s thanks for the support received from the UBS with this project.

For Dr Lukl, the new Bible House is a “building for the future” which will allow the Society to develop Bible work in the Czech Republic and to “realise our responsibility towards God in whose service we work.” (WR 373/12 - 12.02/01.03) [PHOTOS] e-216
