Guam bookstore damaged by typhoon

GUAM, Micronesia — The Faith Bookstore on Guam was one of many buildings on this and neighbouring islands to be severely damaged by Super Typhoon Pongsona on December 8. Most of the stock was destroyed and the building has had to be demolished.

Lynnette Saunders, Administration Manager at the United Bible Societies (UBS) Asia-Pacific Regional Service Center, was on a visit to the area at the time and witnessed at first hand how local people coped with the damage to infrastructure, the absence of water and electricity supplies and a severe fuel shortage.

She has called on the UBS fellowship to pray for those affected by this disaster, which has made many people homeless and put others out of work. (WR 375/11 - 3.03) e-229
