Prisoners across the world are ‘hungry for spiritual food’

“Through these [Bible-based literacy] classes, God has allowed me to learn about him and to begin a new spiritual life,” declares Peto Kapoi, a prisoner at Bomana, Papua New Guinea. Mr Kapoi is just one of the many prisoners around the world who are, in the words of the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea’s Tammy Miria, “hungry for spiritual food.”

The next World Report will feature stories about Bible Society ministry to prisoners in countries as far apart as Belgium, the Philippines, South Africa and Papua New Guinea. Through the words of prisoners and those who introduce them to the Bible, these stories tell of the life-changing impact of this vital element of Bible Society work.
