The Prime Minister, Fredrick Sumaye, was among more than a thousand
people who attended the launch of the complete Bible in the Iraqw language
in the Mbulu district in July. He publicly honoured the translator and
former missionary Frøydis Nordbustad, and focused on the importance
of teaching people to read and write their own language. Dr Aloo Mojola,
UBS Africa Regional Translation Coordinator, gave a speech elaborating
the principles that the United Bible Societies applies to translating.
