HUNGARY — The Hungarian Bible Society adopted a high-level presence at the ‘Szélrózsa’ Lutheran Youth Festival in Tata in July as part of its strategy of making young people more aware of its work. It displayed print and audio products and held screenings of the Jesus film. TANZANIA — The Prime Minister, Fredrick Sumaye, was among more than a thousand people who attended the launch of the complete Bible in the Iraqw language in the Mbulu district in July. He publicly honoured the translator and former missionary Frøydis Nordbustad, and focused on the importance of teaching people to read and write their own language. Dr Aloo Mojola, UBS Africa Regional Translation Coordinator, gave a speech elaborating the principles that the United Bible Societies applies to translating. e-287 August 25, 2004 (WR 388/29 - 10/11.04)

GUADELOUPE — The French Antilles Bible Society distributed Beyond the Trophy, a bilingual French/Creole edition of the Gospel of Mark, at the 2004 Tour de la Guadeloupe cycle race in August. The Society allocated a theme to each of the 10 days of the race, taken from a list entitled Ten Principles for Success, which are featured in the booklet.
