LEBANON Just over two years after openings its doors, Bible World, an interactive, multimedia Scripture experience run by the Bible Society in Lebanon, recently welcomed its 10,000th visitor Pierre Khoury, a shy 11-year-old boy.
As he walked into Bible World with his fellow students from the Saint Coeur School in Kfarhbab, a town north of Beirut, Pierre was surprised to be handed a plaque of honour by Mike Bassous, Bible Society Acting General Secretary.
When our Bible World Coordinator, Paula Ziade, told me that we were about to reach this landmark figure, we made plans to celebrate! says Mr Bassous. It was an interesting moment to see who would be the 10,000th child to walk in.

Pierre was glad to receive his plaque and enjoyed all the attention he received. He and the other children in his class then went on to complete the two-hour Bible World tour. Afterwards, the Bible Society and Bible World volunteers celebrated with the children and their teachers, providing cake, refreshments and gifts. Each visitor received an illustrated Bible.
Since opening in November 2002, Bible World has proved extremely popular, receiving regular bookings from both schools and Sunday Schools. Aimed at opening the Bible story in a fresh way for children, through computer games and other interactive tools, Bible World is based on an idea by the Scottish Bible Society.
